Top 5 Reasons to Lifeguard with LIV North

As we spring into Spring, and look towards summer, we can’t help but get excited for the opening of outdoor pools. These pools openings means we’re looking for lifeguards to join our team. We share our top 5 reasons to lifeguard with LIV North this summer:

1. Responsibility

Nothing tells an employer more about your ability to be responsible than seeing Lifeguard on your resume. Lifeguarding comes with a higher level of responsibility than most jobs, as the primary purpose of the job is to ensure the safety of the facility. Being a guard tells employers that you are able to ensure a completely safe environment by paying attention to detail in every part of a facility.

2. Leadership

As a lifeguard, the swimmers (or sunbathers) who come into the pool area are relying on you to ensure their safety. The vast majority of lifeguarding is “preventative lifeguarding” – stopping situations before they develop – and being a leader is all about being proactive and taking initiative.

3. Communication/Teamwork

As a guard with LIV North, you are an essential part of a large team, working together to create the most positive experiences for the swimmers we serve. Our team consists of lifeguards, supervisors, service and maintenance technicians, schedulers, and managers who all communicate and work together to ensure the safe and smooth operations of any given facility. Working as a team is a great way to make connections and build positive relationships with the people you work with

4. Flexible Schedules

Being part of a team also allows for flexible schedules. Whether you’re wanting to make the most of your availability this summer, or just want to pick up a shift or two around your summer school schedule, being a Lifeguard at LIV North allows for the flexibility of working with your scheduler to fix work around your schedule. LIV North serves pools all across the GTA and in London, ON, which also means that we are always looking to staff you at a pool that is as close to home as possible.

5. Remaining Healthy and Active

Being a lifeguard outside is a great way to soak up rays and promote healthy active living, while getting paid at the same time. Lifeguarding is not just about the safety of the facility, but providing customer service and making connections with the swimmers. It’s the perfect opportunity to get up from the sofa, desk, or lecture halls and encourage others to continue to do the same!

LIV North Aquatics Kick Off 2022 Renovation Season

The Hamptons Condominium is an amazing low-rise complex located on the delta of Dufferin’s Creek in Ajax, Ontario. This condo was built in 1991 and needed an upgrade for their pool area to do a complete resurface and fix some leaks. LIV North Aquatics was contracted to make the necessary repairs to the Hampton pool.

The renovation lasted 5 weeks, which included tile work and curing time. The entire project included:

  • New custom tile depth markings
  • Chipping away old Marbelite surfaces
  • Parging the pool and applying symmetric waterproofing before priming and adding 2 coats of paint

LIV North Aquatic’s expertise made the difference on this project by taking the extra steps to complete the work properly.

LIV North Aquatics has just completed another large step in improving our ability to exceed customer expectations by providing Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification training to all LIV North Aquatic Maintenance, Service and Repair Technicians.
