Seasonal Pool Openings

LIV North would like to give a big shout out to our summer pool staff and our experienced renovation team who have worked tirelessly to open up our customer’s outdoor pools this year.

While we are well equipped with supplies and products needed to serve our customers, staffing shortages still remains an issue as it continues to plague the entire industry across North America. Our dedicated scheduling and staffing teams have continued to work hard and  creatively develop new models to meet our customers’ needs and enabling residents to enjoy their pools this summer.

We anticipate that lifeguard staffing will continue to be an ongoing challenge throughout the seasonal industry and, while we will continue to work with all our customers diligently to provide needed staff, another viable option is to consider “right sizing” your large outdoor pool with the Myrtha Pool in a Pool system so that staffing is not required. In addition to solving staffing challenges, the Myrtha pool system enhances your amenity with a modern, new sleek look. Check out a sampling of pools below.

Seeking Ways to Provide Relief to Ukraine

We are all dismayed by the crisis that is occurring in the Ukraine.  Many of our employees have been asking how we can contribute to support the Ukrainian people. We have found one small way.

At this time of year, our Aquatics Division is busy preparing our vans for the upcoming summer season. As it happened, it was time to retire some of our vehicles. This year, we found a way to put our retired vans to better use and donate them to the Canadian Red Cross, specifically the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.

The process was very simple through an association called Donate A Car Canada. This organization looks after removing the vehicles, auctioning, or scrapping them and donating the proceeds to a chosen charity, in our case, the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.

Top 5 Reasons to Lifeguard with LIV North

As we spring into Spring, and look towards summer, we can’t help but get excited for the opening of outdoor pools. These pools openings means we’re looking for lifeguards to join our team. We share our top 5 reasons to lifeguard with LIV North this summer:

1. Responsibility

Nothing tells an employer more about your ability to be responsible than seeing Lifeguard on your resume. Lifeguarding comes with a higher level of responsibility than most jobs, as the primary purpose of the job is to ensure the safety of the facility. Being a guard tells employers that you are able to ensure a completely safe environment by paying attention to detail in every part of a facility.

2. Leadership

As a lifeguard, the swimmers (or sunbathers) who come into the pool area are relying on you to ensure their safety. The vast majority of lifeguarding is “preventative lifeguarding” – stopping situations before they develop – and being a leader is all about being proactive and taking initiative.

3. Communication/Teamwork

As a guard with LIV North, you are an essential part of a large team, working together to create the most positive experiences for the swimmers we serve. Our team consists of lifeguards, supervisors, service and maintenance technicians, schedulers, and managers who all communicate and work together to ensure the safe and smooth operations of any given facility. Working as a team is a great way to make connections and build positive relationships with the people you work with

4. Flexible Schedules

Being part of a team also allows for flexible schedules. Whether you’re wanting to make the most of your availability this summer, or just want to pick up a shift or two around your summer school schedule, being a Lifeguard at LIV North allows for the flexibility of working with your scheduler to fix work around your schedule. LIV North serves pools all across the GTA and in London, ON, which also means that we are always looking to staff you at a pool that is as close to home as possible.

5. Remaining Healthy and Active

Being a lifeguard outside is a great way to soak up rays and promote healthy active living, while getting paid at the same time. Lifeguarding is not just about the safety of the facility, but providing customer service and making connections with the swimmers. It’s the perfect opportunity to get up from the sofa, desk, or lecture halls and encourage others to continue to do the same!

Apply now for a summer of fun and discover the possibilities of working with LIV North!
